We all come to various points in our lives when we just want to learn something new or really improve on something that we have been interested in for a while. The hard part is always getting started. First you need desire, then you need the motivation to go for it and lastly, you need perseverance to improve and be successful. How can you make achieving your goals a reality? The answer may sound simple, but it is loaded. You simply start with the fundamentals. No matter what it is that you want to accomplish, whether it be starting a business, creating a healthy lifestyle, or even just developing a more positive outlook, fundamentals are always at the root.
So what are the fundamentals of makeup? There are a few things that would be beneficial when starting out (or rediscovering) your makeup adventure.

Today I’m just going to discuss the importance of skincare. Many of you who know me understand that I am flat out lazy. There. I said it. Needless to say, I’ve still got a ways to go on #2. So as a lazy person, it is very hard for me to take the time to give my skin the care and attention that it needs. My parents gave me some pretty good genes, so I haven’t had the biggest struggle with acne or blemishes that a lot of us usually experience growing up. Obviously, that sounds like a blessing, but in reality it can be a real problem because I tend to assume that because my skin is good right now that I don’t need to take extra measures to take care of it. I’m sure that in 50 years, that logic is going to come back to bite me in the butt. And probably the face. My point is don’t be lazy like me!!! Laziness never got anybody anywhere. Shocker, I know. But I digress.
I think it is safe to assume that at least (i’m totally making this number up) 99.6% of women wear makeup at some point in their lives. And that’s just the women. Don’t ask me to guess the percentage of how many men wear makeup, because I’m sure the number isn’t too far behind. The effects makeup can have on skin are often times beautiful (immediate) and disastrous (longterm). The never ending cycle of using makeup to cover up blemishes is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously, you don’t want people to notice the big red pus ball in the middle of your forehead, but you also would rather it be gone all together. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO!? The answer is simple. Don’t just cover up the problem, find a way to kill the problem. The best way to do that is to find a quality skincare regimen and STICK TO IT! What you use is sooo important, but if you use it once, it doesn’t matter how expensive and proven that it is, it’s not going to clear up jack. Or jackie. Whichever you are.
How do you know what product to use? There are so many options out there that it’s hard to make a decision on what to use and it can get expensive to try out a bunch of options that end up not working. Prescriptions are actually harmful in the long run, so that option is probably not your best option. The brand out there that has been getting praise time and time again from celebrities to your average neighbor is Rodan and Fields. They have options for almost any skin problem that you may have from wrinkles, to dark spots, to blemishes, to sensitivity. If you truly want to invest in yourself and the health and well being of your skin, then Rodan and Fields products is what will pay off.
