Happy Tuesday, everybody! I hope you had a great start to your week yesterday!
It’s time again for a handy tip from yours truly!
Goals. We center our daily decisions based on the goals we have set. Or lack thereof. But what is your attitude when you are attempting to accomplish a goal or come up with a goal to complete? Are you excited and enthusiastic? Stressed out or overwhelmed? Indifferent? Relaxed? This is probably a more popular topic to talk about around the new year, but heck, whats one month later?
SO MANY QUESTIONS! No matter how you answered these questions, there is only one solution. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT obsess over a goal you have set for yourself. Whether it be going crazy and making sure you do everything exactly right with zero slip up’s, or stressing out because you haven’t worked as hard as you would have liked to accomplish your goal. Both approaches are a sure way to fail. Not allowing any mistakes is an unsustainable ideal because that is exactly what leads to burning out and giving up. Bringing yourself down will also end with the same result. So how can you find a happy medium?
You’ve heard this time and time again. Simply take it day by day. Set a big goal for yourself to accomplish, but then set daily goals to help you ultimately reach that main goal. If day by day still isn’t working for you, take some advice from my good friend Kimmy Schmidt, “A person can stand just about anything for 10 seconds. All you’ve got to do is take it 10 seconds at a time.”
So if you find yourself struggling day by day to accomplish anything, just start with ten seconds. And if that doesn’t work, then you should find some professional help, because this blog just isn’t going to cut it for you.
Now get out there and accomplish something, even it’s something small!! Don’t forget to enjoy the simple pleasures in life along the way. No goal is worth giving up your joy. On that note, I’m going to go eat a cookie (And not feel bad about it!).
